The Capoeira Film Festival's mission is to preserve and promote Capoeira, allowing its popularity to reach the broades possible audience.

Conceived to educate the publich on the art of Capoeira, other African related dances, martial arts and rituals through an annual celebration of film, documentary, photography and open discussions.

Following the success of last year's Festival, this year's second edition of the Capoeira Film Festival will focus on social issues within the Capoeira Communities.

"The Capoeira player is still a true Ambassador of Afro-Brazilian culture, in spite of extreme poverty, inequality and lack of educational opportunities."
